We love hearing from Ashworth College students! Your stories inspire us and others to go after what matters. At Ashworth’s in-person graduation ceremony we caught up with Jazmine Dalcoe to hear why she went back to school and what she thought about her experience.
First, we have to give Jazmine props. She and her family (including her one-year-old) flew to graduation all the way from Guam! But, when you’re dedicating your degree to Grandma, you can’t go wrong; especially when you’re the first grandchild to earn a college degree.
Our students choose to go back to school for many reasons. One reason we hear often is career advancement. That’s why Jazmine chose to go back. She wanted to get a leg up on her competition in the military, so she decided to build new skills through a bachelor’s in marketing. The flexibility of Ashworth College’s online classes helped her earn her degree without missing a beat in her life – even though it meant sometimes writing a paper in the middle of the night. And, she always felt connected to the staff at Ashworth, despite being an ocean away.

Finishing her degree was the kind of thing Jazmine always dreamed of. All she needed was a chance to do it on her terms. No set class or exam times. No group work. Just her and her incredible work ethic to get things done.
Congratulations Jazmine! We are proud of you and your accomplishments. We can’t wait to see what you do next!
